Privacy Policy

BoardCount respects your privacy.

This Privacy Policy explains what information the BoardCount app collects, how it is used, and what choices you have.

What BoardCount Does

BoardCount is a drywall estimating app for contractors, remodelers, and related users. The app includes a free Quick Calc mode and a paid Pro workflow for saved jobs, pricing, and PDF export.

Information You Enter

BoardCount stores information you enter into the app, such as:

• job names
• room dimensions
• openings
• pricing defaults
• labor and markup values
• business profile information used in proposal PDFs

This information is stored locally on your device in the current version of the app.

Purchases

If you purchase BoardCount Pro, the purchase is processed by Apple through the App Store. BoardCount does not receive your full payment card information. Apple may provide limited transaction status information needed to determine whether Pro access has been unlocked or restored.

Analytics

BoardCount uses PostHog, a third-party product analytics service, to collect anonymous product analytics so we can understand which features are used, find problems, and improve the app over time.

Each app install is identified by a random anonymous install identifier generated on your device. BoardCount does not require an account, and this identifier is not your name, email address, customer name, Apple ID, or payment information.

The analytics events we send may include:

• app opens
• app version, build number, platform, app ownership, and update channel
• feature interactions, such as Quick Calc, saved-job prompts, Pro screens, paywalls, and proposal preview actions
• Quick Calc usage, including selected sheet size, sheet count, and whether ceiling area was included
• job and room workflow usage, such as whether pricing defaults were used and structural room settings like opening count, finish level, fire-rating setting, wet-area setting, and waste percent
• purchase and restore result status, such as whether Pro was unlocked, a purchase was cancelled, or no previous purchase was found
• PDF export type, such as internal estimate PDF or client proposal PDF, plus basic export counts such as room count and sheet count
• StoreKit or purchase/restore error status needed to troubleshoot purchase and restore problems

We do not send your job names, client names, project addresses, room labels, phone numbers, email addresses, license numbers, notes, photos, PDF files, PDF file paths, receipts, transaction IDs, material prices, labor costs, margins, or free-form text you enter into BoardCount.

Analytics data is processed by PostHog. See PostHog's privacy policy at posthog.com/privacy.

BoardCount does not use:

• advertising SDKs
• Apple's advertising identifier
• cross-app tracking
• user accounts
• cloud sync of your job data

How We Use Information

We use information only to provide the app's functionality, including:

• calculating drywall estimates
• saving jobs on-device
• applying your pricing defaults
• generating estimate and proposal PDFs
• determining whether Pro access is unlocked

Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We do not share your job data with third parties except as needed to provide platform functionality, including:

• App Store purchase processing by Apple
• PDF sharing actions you initiate from your device
• Anonymous product analytics processed by PostHog as described in the Analytics section above

Data Retention

In the current version, your saved jobs and settings remain on your device until you delete them or remove the app. If you delete the app, locally stored data may be removed from your device by the operating system.

Your Choices

You can choose not to enter client or project details, delete jobs from the app, remove the app from your device, or restore App Store purchases through Apple's purchase system.

Children's Privacy

BoardCount is not directed to children.

Security

BoardCount uses platform-standard storage and App Store purchase systems, but no method of electronic storage is completely secure.

Changes To This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The current version will be posted on this page.
